And thus Torpedo7 was born, with a passionate commitment to providing customers with an easy-to-use website offering an extensive range of quality goods at competitive prices.
What began as a venture based on the premise of filling a gap in the marketplace is now one of New Zealand's most successful and widely recognised online retailers. In 2006, we skipped across the Tasman and opened an Australian Torpedo7 website, which has proved just as successful as its New Zealand counterpart. Today, our product offerings have vastly expanded and diversified to include Bike, Snow, Moto, Outdoor, Watersports and Fishing gear.
In October 2014, Torpedo7 joined forces with R&R Sport – New Zealand’s leading outdoor retailer in the bricks and mortar space. R&R Sport was born in 1981 in Dunedin as Recycled Recreation, a store specialising in second hand sports gear, R&R Sport had a rich history of providing practical knowledge and hands on expert advice to adventure enthusiasts of all ages and backgrounds. As the market changed so did the shops with a name change in 1990 to R&R Sport to reflect the fact that 95% of sales were now from new gear. With a range of stores across New Zealand and experienced staff who love to use the products they sell, R&R Sport was widely regarded as the go to shop for all outdoor enthusiasts.
